The chafes or the intertrigos do happen! The rashes are quiet prominent to crop up at the skin folds because of the rubbing or friction between the two, and then for the moisture that it traps in. The inner thighs, under breast areas, lower underarms, neck, and the butt cracks are the body areas prone to getting chafes/rashes. Do you see your inner thighs discolored or darker than the rest of your thigh? If so, this DIY treatment is to the rescue. Citric acid (or fruits like lemon) have been used for the same reason since ages. However, we at Hale and Belle won’t recommend you the same for your *private areas* for it tingle like acid! This DIY treatment for your chafes / discolored / dark inner thighs, etc works out wonders.
ALL THAT YOU NEED:
- Licorice Root Powder (or also you can use its extract) – 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable Glycerin – 1 tablespoon
- Mix the two ingredients together.
- Apply the mix to the affected areas and rub gently for 5 minutes to exfoliate. Allow the mixture to sit on the area for 15 minutes.
- Wash off with WATER.
Do this DIY treatment as often as you can to see the results. The more you inculcate this treatment to your beauty regimen, the sooner it will lighten your discolored / darken inner thighs, or the other affected body areas. And because chaffing doesn’t crop up overnight, so it isn’t wise either to expect the results overnight. Anything that’s worthy, takes its own time and consistency.
PS: You’re suggested to take this DIY treatment BEFORE shower.
HOW THIS DIY TREATMENT WORKS?
LICORICE ROOT POWDER is the KEY INGREDIENT here, and none can substitute it! Licorice contains an active compound that’s termed as glabridin. It’s a natural skin lightener. Licorice aids in creating and maintaining a balance between the skin cells and prevent them from getting dark or discolored. It works the same as does the HYDROQUINONE, a lightening chemical; however, licorice is natural and safe! Also, licorice is a boon remedy for people who suffer eczema or psoriasis for it soothes and reduce down the skin irritation and inflammation.
VEGETABLE GLYCERINE is extremely nourishing and moisturizing. Make use of this naturally available, non-toxic skin moisturizer to keep your skin as smooth as baby’s bottom.
DISCLAIMER: With any beauty regimen, it is always suggested to go for a test patch first to see if your skin is allergic to any of the ingredients. Everyone has a different skin type and sensitivities. And so, the results can vary from person to person. We can not vouch for any substitute ingredients.
