Green tea is known for its anti-inflammatory action on the skin. This property makes it a highly sought-after ingredient, especially for the products crafted for oily and acne-prone skin.
A while back, I noticed tiny bumps on my forehead. The usual cause to these forehead bumps is the clogged pores or ducts of sweat glands. In medical terms, these tiny bumps are called ‘Milia’. Usually, the degree of Milia varies. The one caused by the sun damage is the most common form of Milia. So, something that could calm my skin while deep cleansing it was really needed. Hence, the addition of Plum Green Tea Clear Face Mask.
This Green Tea Clear Face Mask by Plum Goodness is packed with the goodness of Kaolin clay and Bentonite clay that would absorb excess oil without drying out the skin. It also has the benefits of Green Tea Leaf Extracts and Glycolic Acid. While Green Tea Extracts helps put a stop to the acne formation cycle, Glycolic acid supports deep cleansing of the pores and gently exfoliates the dead skin cells. Voila! Bright and clear skin.
I have been using this Plum Green Tea Clear Face Mask for a month now. Based on my personal experience with the product, I’ll be sharing the review.
Plum is a 100% vegan and cruelty-free brand. This Green Tea Clear Face Mask by Plum is best suited for oily skin type to combination skin types and the acne-prone skin. Now, let’s jump in to the product review.

Please make sure you do not rub face with towel, but just pat dry. Use the mask once a week. It is not recommended to exceed the frequency of product usage. Also, please note that you may experience a mild tingling sensation on your face for sometime after product application. It is perfectly normal to experience the same as the bentonite clay in the mask works by removing dirt, grimes, and dead skin cells from the skin.
Apparently, brand pays much heed to mother nature and sustainability. The product comes in a classy glass jar container with a white screw open cap made with PCR plastic, which is recyclable. The container is quite heavy with a sturdy packaging. It also has a safety lid inside the cap. However. It doesn’t qualify to travel-friendly packaging. Just as much luxe and sustainable the packaging is, it is heavy and fragile equally.
Just when you open the lid and look at it, it’s just like any other Kaolin clay mask. It is quite thick and pasty in consistency inside the jar. However, when applied on the face, it glides quite smoothly and feels creamy. The product has a smooth texture with just the right consistency – neither too thick nor too runny. The product application goes easy and uniform, whether applied using brush or finger tips. It has a mild fragrance with a hint of green tea, which is not at all strong. The product doesn’t have any granules in them.
Right after the product application. I experienced a relaxing cooling sensation on my skin. There was a mild tingling sensation, which eventually subsided in minutes. It took 15 to 20 minutes for the mask to completely dry. However, I would usually keep the mask on for an additional 5 minutes because I feel the masks are then better able to clean pores. After rinsing the mask off, my skin appeared fresh and squeaky clean. Although, it is a clay mask, never did I experience a dry or stretchy skin after washing the mask off. This is perhaps because the product is formulated with ethyl-hexyl-glycerin which works as a skin conditioning agent.
After a month-long usage of this product, I would admit the fact that it did serve my purpose. The mask helped calm my skin inflammation. Over a period of time, the tiny bumps on my forehead had bought the farm. They had crashed. They were missing! Since the product is packed with glycolic acid, it also gently exfoliates and deep cleanse the skin. Hence, barely any breakout thereafter.
Also, I have noticed the mask bringing out an even skin tone to quite some extent. I feel my skin soft, fresh, and rejuvenated. The product brings off the brand claims. It effectively pulls out all the dirt, grime and oil from the pores. The pores look visibly shrunk and reduced in size, but only for 2-3 hours. It not just cleanses but also gives a cool and refreshing sensation to the skin, adding a healthy glow to it. The glycolic acid present in the mask supports chemical exfoliation.
If you’ve active acnes on your face, you can follow up with anti-acne gel after rinsing off the mask. This will help subside those acnes and help prevent them from getting bigger. The mask also helps lighten the blemishes. It is best suited for oily and combination skin types. I have a combination skin type, and so I would apply generously on my T-zones, and quite miserly on the remaining zones of my face. The mask can also be used as spot treatment to control acnes.
